Winter is coming!! It is? Well..kinda…

Remember in 2016 when it was in the windy 40s in Early December for 2 days…

Remember in January, 2017, after the hottest winter memorable we had the hardest freeze we have seen in 10 years?

Even though our seasons are different than the north, we do still have to prepare for frost nips at those soft leafed plants and do anything we can to prepare the roots of our trees just in case that hard freeze sets in and hits our young fruit trees just a little too hard!

So we will be talking about things you can do to make it easy on yourself when those temps drop real fast for that second of cold in our South Texas Winter.

One Sunday a month (usually the 3rd Sunday) our Open Volunteer Hours become a call out for All Hands on Deck: a special project to get The Learning Garden in tip top shape.

Come out for the whole time or just 30 minutes…whatever time you can lend. Bring yourself most of all, but, if you can, bring weed eaters and tools for general Garden maintenance.

Bring closed toe shoes, water, sun protection. You may also consider bringing bug sting protection and garden tools you work with.
