Produce to Expect in the Coming Weeks at the Downtown Farmers’ Market

    written by: Katie Sisk

In the past month, we have seen drastic weather changes here in the Coastal Bend. With temperatures ranging in the 70s one day and then dropping to the 40s the next, no wonder the groundhog predicted there would be six-more-weeks of winter. But, the winter freezes mean more winter vegetables at the Corpus Christi Downtown Farmers’ Market. This means more greens, broccoli, and turnips, so stock up while you can!

Spring planting season will come as February warms up. Some seedlings are already in the ground and others are waiting in greenhouses for this cold front to pass! Also, as we get closer to summer, expect to see tomatoes, peppers, green beans, potatoes, zucchini, summer squash, and much more at the produce tables at the market.
